The Research Centre of Nonlinear Science is primarily grounded in nonlinear analysis theory, targeting national strategies such as aerospace technology, artificial intelligence, and the 03 Major Project. It focuses on tackling common fundamental and key technological issues in the intelligent perception, processing, interaction, and control of multidimensional information. With spatial information at its core, the center follows the main threads of intelligent perception, intelligent computing, and intelligent systems. It features novel applications in aerospace communications, 5G and the Internet of Things, and smart medicine. The center has established an integrated development framework centered around an engineering research center, which synergizes with the Space Science and Technology Research Institute, the Artificial Intelligence Industrial Research Institute, and the Tsinghua Holdings (Nanchang) Innovation Base. These three entities are respectively positioned for fundamental frontier research, key technological innovation research, and technology transfer and industrial application.
I. Platform Personnel Overview
The platform currently has over 50 full-time faculty members, including more than 15 professors and over 30 associate professors or personnel with equivalent senior professional titles. All hold doctoral degrees. There are over 20 doctoral supervisors and more than 30 master's supervisors. The team includes four national-level talents and over 20 provincial and ministerial-level talents.
II. Research Characteristics and Achievements
Nonlinear science research demonstrates a balanced emphasis on both theory and application. The research center has achieved breakthrough progress in both fundamental theoretical exploration and practical engineering applications. Significant research results have been published in top international journals, such as Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, and IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. Furthermore, in recent years, the center has received multiple second and third prizes of the Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award.
III. Talent Cultivation and Academic Exchange
The center consistently adheres to a dual-drive strategy of high-level talent cultivation and the construction of academic exchange platforms. In terms of talent development, it has cultivated a group of outstanding master's and doctoral graduates, whose dissertations have repeatedly been awarded the Jiangxi Provincial Outstanding Dissertation Prize. Regarding academic exchange, the center invites numerous renowned domestic and international experts to visit and give lectures annually. This not only broadens the academic horizons of faculty and students but also significantly enhances the center's academic influence.
IV. Summary and Outlook
Through interdisciplinary integration, the Nonlinear Science Research and Application Center has achieved remarkable accomplishments in both fundamental theoretical research and practical application development. In the future, as the various research centers continue to deepen their collaboration, nonlinear science will play an increasingly important role in solving complex system problems and driving technological innovation. As innovative platforms in the field of nonlinear science, these research centers not only promote cross-fertilization between disciplines but also provide strong support for cultivating high-level innovative talent and serving national strategic needs.
