Recruitment for Postdoctoral Program in Mathematics

I. Basic Qualifications

1. Adhere to laws and regulations, demonstrate excellent moral character and professional integrity, be in good physical and mental health, and have no record of legal or disciplinary violations.

2. Possess a strong passion for scientific research, with a high degree of dedication, innovation spirit, and teamwork capabilities.

3. Hold a Ph.D. or be near completion of a Ph.D. degree. The period between receiving the doctoral degree and the start date of the postdoctoral appointment should generally not exceed three years. Applicants should typically be under 35 years of age (this limit may be extended to 38 for exceptionally outstanding candidates).

4. Have a solid foundation in professional theoretical knowledge and practical research experience, with a strong record of research achievements.

5. The proposed research plan should align broadly with the research focuses of the postdoctoral program.


II. Appointment and Benefits for Full-time Postdocs
  The program offers a clear career development path under the university's Postdoctoral Talent Development Support Plan.

1. Remuneration: The university provides a base annual salary of ¥150,000 and a monthly housing allowance of ¥600 – ¥1,000. A "Postdoctoral Scholarship" with three tiers (A, B, C) awards annual stipends of ¥60,000, ¥40,000, and ¥30,000, respectively, with at least 50% of postdocs receiving this scholarship. Furthermore, according to the Nanchang University Outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher Selection Guidelines, those awarded the "Outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher" title receive a one-time bonus of ¥50,000.

2. Research Independence: Postdocs are eligible to apply for various levels of research grants as Principal Investigator (PI) during their appointment.

3. Professional Development: Eligible postdocs may apply for research-focused professional title qualifications.

4. Benefits: The university provides social insurance in accordance with the standard package for its contract-based staff (non-civil service establishment positions). Postdocs also enjoy access to school enrollment policies for their children equivalent to those available for regular faculty members.

5. Career Opportunity: Postdocs who successfully complete their term and meet the university's hiring standards may apply for faculty positions, subject to recruitment plans and relevant policies.

6. Additional Funding: In accordance with the "Jiangxi Province Nine Measures" for Postdoctoral Development, the university will assist full-time postdocs in science and engineering fields in applying for provincial living and research subsidies of ¥200,000 per person. Postdocs in other fields may apply for subsidies of ¥160,000 per person, along with other potential support and incentive awards.

7. Policy Update: Should there be any adjustments to postdoctoral funding policies, the latest official regulations will apply.
